    Grande surprise

This happened almost 2 weeks ago, but I just now have time to tell the story...

So, 2 saturdays ago.. (Nov 15) I was busy at work. I work in a hardware store. About 10 minutes before closing time, I see my wonderfull wife, all dressed up, walking toward me. She tells me that we are going out tonight... She had a babysitter and that everything was worked out and that didn't have to worry one bit... Then she said " I'm taking you out for a few pints"
That was a great surprise... for one particular reason, I've found a new micro-brewery that brews amazing beer. And that same day was their 2 year anniversary. Yay for me... But there is more... And then she said "And I've brought your kilt!" Double yay for me...

So I hurried up and changed behind my counter and got ready to leave. In my hurry to get dressed, I forgot my p@nts at work.

So we get to the pub, I enjoy a few pints and then a reporter for a local newspaper show up for the 2nd anniversary thing. Takes a few pictures including one of me and my wife playfully clinking our pints. Great fun and very nice surprise.

The next day at work, I learned that the owner of the store found my pants on a pallet of laminated flooring in the middle of the aisle. Ooops!!!
No problem, he tought it was really funny.

And then a few days later, I learned that I made the front page on the local newspaper with the kilt on... He he he ... They haven't seen the last of me yet...

Now I have to find a way to surprise my wife in a similar way...
"Cheri, I've got my kilt, and we're going out..."

That's a great story, sounds like your wife is supportive of you wearing the kilt and that's a great thing too.

Great story. My wife is the one pushing me toward kilts, which surprised the heck out of me. I have had a kilt for 20+ years, but just recently she saw kilted men (quoite a few in Seattle--UKs mostly) she said I should wear a kilt, and that it looks sexy. So know I'm hoping for a pleated Christmas gift from Santa Claus.

Love the pants on the floor bit. That could have been VERY hard to explain if your boss didn't know you wore kilts.

Yes, as a former retailer I can think of many, uh, explanations for the abandoned pants.

I think "I was in such a hurry to get my kilt on and go out with my beautiful wife that I left my pants there" is such a great explanation, though, I will now imagine that happy scenario whenever I see a mystery in the brewing.

Great story, and you have a terrific wife. My wife also pushes for me to wear a kilt all the time, and she gets her wish about 80% of the time (there are some things I do where a kilt is not advisable.)
