I know that I'm a bit biased, but I don't understand how someone could see the way you and your family were dressed and seriously take issue with it.
I understand from your previous postings that there are some comparisons being made between you and your siblings vis-a-vis financial success and that you have recently been evaluating your career, etc., which may have troubled your family somewhat, but there is definitely nothing wrong with your wardrobe.
Your son looks proud as heck to wear his kilt (and what a chip off the old block.)
I hope that your family realizes that the only real problem they have is with themselves and encourage you in your endeavours, kilted or not.
