The short answer is no you don't. We do not get the winters of old and being by the sea you will be ok(famous last words!). These days, the only problem, with snow, MIGHT be when you cross Rannoch Moor(A82 Glasgow/ Fort William road),but even these days that is rare. Black ice can be a problem in the mornings, but the gritting lorries are very good. As long as you bring your common sense, you will be fine!

PM, where in "northern Wyoming" did you live? My mother spent 30 + years in Centennial Valley, W of Laramie at 8200 ft -- we just moved her back to San Diego, at 90 y/o the elevation and winters were getting too much for her but it is beautiful country for sure.

I can just say: "Have a good time". And please do inform us if you manage to find "common sense".

Hope you have a nice holiday by the sea. Post piccies of the views when you get the chance for those of us who can only dream of seeing it for ourselves for now.

Have a wonderful and relaxing time. I am sorry to say I never got there. And it is beginning to look like I'll not set eyes on the islands again. Last time I was anywhere near there, was when my Grandfather died in 1961, and we went for the funeral. (That was on Mull).
