Just wanted to say I am here to join the clan of kilt wearers from near and far. I have been uncovering my family history and very interested in the Scottish part of me. I just completed my first kilt on the sewing machine a week ago and I wanted to thank the gentleman who posted the procedures on line because it worked very well as a guide. I did however choose to use one of my family's tartans as a material and I had no problem getting the kilt made and looking pretty darn good for my first attempt. It was almost a weird kind of deja vu thing like I had done this before. I love the kilt and wear it often (even though it could use a few more attention to details) and am seriously considering starting the hunting tartan next. My only question is that I am wondering if there are any such classes or instructional videos from master kilt makers that can show me the details of kilt making and all the little unexplained tricks of the trade that I may be missing? Any answers to that?
Glad to find this site and glad to be here....
