If I was ever to appear as some sort of guiding angel in a dream sequence in a Scottish musical comedy that is exactly the sort of thing I would wear.

I'm not sure about any other circumstances though.

    Cheers

I'm with Panache, it looks costume-like.

Maybe as a one off for a wedding besides what Panache said.

    Only after Memorial Day!

Snark aside, I'd have to agree it's a bit too much.

I think with the cream tartan kilt, there's far too much white going on. However, try to picture this jacket/waistcoat with any other tartan you may have in your collection and I think there are strong possibilities with this ensemble.

Sure, it's not "standard" by any means... but certainly intriguing and maybe... just maybe... workable in certain situations.

I think it has a certain elegance to it.

I can think of probably a dozen events and venues where I would wear that jacket.

To my local High School's production of Brigadoon.
In my basement when I'm doing a little woodworking.
    Out trick or treating.
Or if I'm really in the need for some excitement in my life, to my local biker bar.

Watch out Michael Jackson because that jacket is BAD! Perhaps if it was in black it would blend in better, but the white just makes it look like you might be an extra from the cast of The Yellow Submarine, i.e., Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

However, if you want it buy it and have fun with it, be the hit at the opera or next Christmas party.

I cannot conceive of any occasion when I would ever wear that.
