new dropkick murphy's tour dates announced for 2009. some interesting stops in the west/rocky mtn region. early march dates in the northeast ending up in boston for st patrick's day. all roads lead to boston, indeed...

They were here in Louisville KY a couple weeks ago. LOUD show, complete with mosh pit up front (I stayed away--didn't want to frighten any of the blokes w' me kilt, now). Sadly, the amplifier system was so out of balance (perhaps a trend?) that I couldn't really hear the words to most of their songs...or was that the intent?

The last time DKM were here in Phoenix I headed down to the mosh pit in my kilt to do a jig right in the middle of it with my kilt on. Not one of my brightest moments, but it was fun. I'm getting too old for that stuff though.

I checked out their site and didn't see any in Phoenix listed yet. it only goes up to March 6th right now, and we all know that they'll be in Boston on St. Patrick's day and the day after. Hopefully they'll make it back here soon. Good times.

Good on the boys! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on one's POV) I'm done with jammed to the rafters shows in medium+ sized venues. Either I'm playing in the band or I'm staying home. If I need a mosh pit (and yes this 50 something still gets in the thick of it now and again for old time's sake) I go to local shows with local bands (usually friend's bands). The DMs are relegated to the home stereo system for this old boy.
