Actors, on the other hand, are expected to entertain.
Martin makes an excellent point here. I'm sure the Prince has had people drilling him since birth on the proper way to sit in a kilt and there are all sorts or "expectations" to which he is subjected.
Connery, on the other hand, is an actor and can pretty much do as he wants.

Not the girlie-mahn way P.C. sits.
You're being too hard on the Prince. As several people have pointed out, he just can't sit in a Connery pose in public. And I bet he can't go regimental either for the same reason. Pity the poor man, but don't belittle him.
I sit Camilla-style, knees together, ankles crossed.

How did I miss this one, I wonder! Well, I have never thought about 'how' I sit - I do so in whatever manner comes to me naturally at the time. Of course, I always begin with the sweep (unless it is totally impracticable - eg: lack of space) and, once seated, I suppose I adjust my posture to suit the chair, the location and taking account of those around me. I really never have analysed this - it is all second nature!
Take care,
Ham.
