    For me, nothing so far can match the old-time, zany chaos (and arch scripting) of Christmas in Connecticut. {And of course I mean the original, from 1944, with Barb Stanwyck, not that wretched 90's remake with Kristofferson & Cannon.}
    The dialogue from supporting role actors like Sydney Greenstreet, S. Z. Sakall & Una O'Connor by themselves is worth the time & attention, and besides, if you never see this war-time pearl, you'll never get wise to "the ol' magoo"!

    I'm with Panache in liking the Patrick Stewart version of "A Christmas Carol". It's a great modern version that adhere's to the original story very well. Patrick Stewart makes a great Scrooge as well. I like the 1951 Alastair Sims version too, but modern filmaking technology (and the fact that I'm a Star Trek TNG fan) put the newer version higher on my list.

    Also on my list are several previously mentioned films and a couple not mentioned...

    "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation"

    "A Christmas Story"

    "It's a Wonderful Life"

    "Scrooged"

    "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

    "Elf"

    "Home Alone"

    We just put up our display of nutcrackers and wooden soldiers (Splash_4 knows them ) yesterday. To my great delight my son asked to watch "March of the Wooden Soldiers" this evening. At this moment, as we are watching, the Bogeymen have just invaded and the only hope in repelling them lies in the toy factory warehouse!

    Cheers
