Tank?

Here is the FAQ page that goes into detail about a "Tank." I'm not a big fan of the term I prefer to call it an 8 yard hand sewn 16 oz kilt, however it has seemed to catch on.

I think in this forum, it makes it easier to distinguish what you are talking about when you don't mean one of the other types of kilts. I never use the term anywhere else, but do occasionally use it here when that is exactly what I mean.

Someone posted a newspaper article here once where the reporter stated that these kinds of kilts are "called a tank," and I cringed a little, if only for her use of a single source of information and failure to check facts.
