Sorry. In my copious free time I still can't seem to manage to read every single post on the board. I'll try to do so next time before I ask what was apparently a silly question.

Actually, you didn't have to read every post on the board to see this. As Panache pointed out, the message is posted on the front page (the Portal) of this website.

I think it is a very good rule of thumb to read all announcements from the owner and staff of an online forum that you participate in.

One of the other Moderators closed this thread last night because they were taken back how inappropriate your last response was.

I asked that they reopen it so I might respond to you.

For the record, neither of your last two responses on this thread have been worthy of the X Marks the Scot community.

The Featured Sponsor of the Month threads are out chance to recognize and thank the great people that make our forum work. Without their support there would be no XMTS. Sometimes those companies have offered a sale, contest, or discount. The choice is theirs. That isn't really what those threads are for. It is a chance for the membership to express their thoughts and thanks to our sponsors.

Getting a deal or winning something is fun, but it isn't the point.

When the owner or staff post an announcement it is a very small thing to take a moment to read it. In doing so it shows a large amount of respect to not only the owner and staff, but to the entire community.

With these two points now fully explained to you I am now closing the thread.

In future I hope you will think more carefully before posting.
