Looks like I got it wrong

Following on from my previous thread about feeling the need to buy a suit for a night out. Well, we had our party on Dec 6th, and as it so happened there were 2 other members of the public gentleman kilted. As far as I could see they didn't get annoyance at all. Oh well, will teach me not to pre-judge again. Mind you, I did get attention of a different nature. I had my hair cut at the 1/2 setting on the razor and the ladies were rubbing my head most of the night. Apparently they love the feel of that they tell me.

I wore my Black XKilt to run a show a couple of weeks ago; all the reactions were good, but one of my partner vendors still can't believe I wore it for a gig.

Combing your hair with a beard trimmer is tempting... But I'm used to dealing with long hair at this point.

Glad you had a good time, and hope you can go kilted in the future.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Just imagine what additional attention you might have attracted if you had been kilted!

There can be nothing worse than not turning up kilted and then finding others there who are.

It reminds me of not taking a kilt to Cyprus and going on a dinner dancing cruise only to find another gentleman wearing a Gordon and getting all the attention and being dragged into all the Greek dances!

As McClef says there can be nothing worse than missing a good kilting opportunity.
At least though you will be sure to wear your kilt next time.

...but this points out an interesting duality.

If two women showed up at an event in the same dress, they'd be avoiding each other and staring daggers at each other across the room all night.

If two men showed up at an event wearing the same tartan, they'd assume that they were cousins and spend the evening hanging out together and buying each other drinks.

My wife's work just had their party and unfortunately I do not have a kilt yet. After getting there and looking around for a bit, I made a joke about if I had worn a kilt I would not have been the most controversial person there... Two ladies had brought dates (the blow up kind lol). Well the two ladies that were sitting at our table overheard me say that and said they would have loved to see me in a kilt. So next year if my wife still works for them I'm going kilted!
