Small Town Rumor...Must Be Ron
So I walk into my AA home group tonight (think of Cheers without the booze) and everyone starts saying they hear I was in a bar fight??
Story goes a guy in a kilt is at one of the local saloons and a smart mouth guy made a remark about his kilt and the kiltie punched him in the eye and ended the discussion.
Now I'm the only kilted guy in town so it had to be me...!!?? And I guess the compliment is they figured with my Marine time and being a boxer through college that even at 64 I can well take care of myself...
But no guys, sorry. My last fight outside of the ring was in 7th grade on the playground.
Course now I'm wondering who the other kiltie was...if the story's even true. But true or not it seems to be well circulated in our little town since it came at me from three different folks who normally don't associate.
Curiouser and curiouser....
Ron

I was over a thousand miles away at the time. Besides, I avoid bars.
Now if I'd been kilted 20 years ago.....

Primus, congratulations on walking the walk. As a friend of mine says, "I'm allergic to alcohol. When I take a drink, I break out in handcuffs."
Secundus, perhaps it was from the "you" they know, not the "you" they have heard of? Tough, uncompromising, a man among men? (If they extrapolated from that to fisticuffs, that's their assumptions.)
Tertius, a potential new kiltie! Yay!

Great story, Ron, fame or infamy as a bar room brawler!
Best thing I ever did was quit the booze!

Not nice though to be considered an automatic suspect when some kilted misdemeanour takes place locally!

I get the same thing out here... not necessarily about BAR FIGHTS, but anytime someone sees a bald guy in a kilt, they think it must have been me.
Not a bad thing to be famous for I guess...

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw River pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
