Today, I received a special gift from a friend in Scotland. It’s a 5 minute recording of Nigel Tranter filmed in Athelstaneford telling the story of the Saltire and St. Andrew becoming the patron Saint of Scotland.

My friend, Alison was working on a video of the life and works of Nigel when they took this brief video. Tranter wrote over 100 books of Scottish History. He died in 2000 at the age of 90. This video was only first aired at this year’s Saltire Society’s Highland Branch celebration of St. Andrew’s Day. An awesome gift!
