Glen's storm hit here around 10:00am. We got about a foot of the white stuff - no fun for this mailman! But, we will have a white Christmas, as it's projected to stay below 30 degrees (F) all week....

Great photos. We had a little snow on the hills here (and some on the beach for a short time.) Now we are back to the alternating hail and rain.

Since this is now way off topic - I might as well add my snow totals - 8 inches last Tuesday - 12 inches on Friday - and we may get another 3 to 8 inches Saturday into Sunday.

Great for wearing a kilt - makes you feel alive when the wind whips the snow into the nether regions.

It started here about 7:30; by 10:00 I had half a foot; at 2:00 it ranged between 1-1½ feet, and it hasn't stopped yet. There are travel prohibitions for a couple of towns until midnight.

Having said that, I was walking about in my self-made 18 oz Hunting Stewart, and I was comfortable. The wind directly on my knees was a little cold while shoveling the driveway, though.

We've gotten about 7" so far here in Albany. It's a heck of a lot better weather now than last week when that stupid ice storm took out our power and phone lines for the entire weekend. A few areas around here are still without power.

Yesterday (Thursday), we got about 9" here in Duvall, on top of the 2-3" we had from last weekend. Tomorrow, we're supposed to get another 2-3", but, at the same time, we'll have sustained winds of 40-50 mph with gusts somewhere between 75 and 90 mph. Temperatures will be in the 20s, so I don't think I'll be wearing a kilt, at least when I go out to top up the gas tank on the generator. Might wear one inside, but not outdoors. And, not because of potential flyups, but, due to the windchill factor.

I'd take the snow before the 1/2" to 3/4" of ice and the downed power lines and downed trees that we got here in Illinois on Thursday night. The town is still a mess today since it barely got above freezing yesterday. Hopefully the sun will come out today and melt some of it.
