Nor Cal Rabble December Kilt Night
Our monthly gathering was a little early this month, since the kind brewers at The Devil's Canyon didn't want to drag us all out the day after Christmas. Or maybe they didn't want to drag themselves out?
It was very cold, so we all had to dress appropriately in many layers, and there was a variety of hats present-here in this group shot, we get an idea of that variety.
Walkerk is wearing a nice beret, Panache is wearing his current favorite (a Kangol tweed hat), Monkey@Arms has decided to confuse us all by wearing a fez, way2fractious has a cool little flat cap (it has little ear flaps that are tucked up under the hat in this picture), and Bill is trying to decide whether he is Mickey Mouse or Santa Claus!
Our wonderful new Freedom Kilts got to go out together for the first time. I think there may even be some pictures of us together on someone else's camera. Here, Panache and Monkey@Arms enjoy some good tobacco. Panache lifts his pipe to The Wizard.
Because they always have to dress alike, walkerk also wore his Freedom Kilt in Isle of Skye, and his raccoon. We actually managed to get a nice shot of AlanH here without his mouth open!
way2fractious was kind enough to wear his matching Pink Death kilt (ok, his IS a little bit longer). He had to wear his full mask sporran as well, but you can hardly see it here, courtesy of the traditional "goddess" pose. Ignore the devil dog in the background.
More to come...

Some individual and fun shots.
We were greeted by Father Christmas, also known as Chris, one of the brewers.
Dan, who calls himself Handsome Dan, but is known (secretly) as Dan the Older, also a brewer, and carrying on the evening's interesting hat theme.
w2f shows off the ear flaps of his cap.
I spent some time with some of my favorite men.
Alan is sweet, and gives a great hug. Note that you can see both his hands.
w2f is also sweet, but if you look closely, you'll notice there is NOT a hand inside that glove on my shoulder!
A little more to come...

The night just kept getting colder, so we had to come up with some novel ways to keep warm.
Physical activity helps, although "wife carrying" is not the usual method! Since my husband can't carry me, I had to use someone else's

Our boy spent the night with friends last night, but the wee girl came along. When she got too cold (and tired of playing "hide the stuffed sea horse" in sporrans and pockets), we were able to keep her happy:
We also had one good viewing of the fine construction of a Freedom Kilt (what Tim?!):
Oh, I missed this group shot, this one shows TimC in his not so exotic baseball cap and wee Xena got in as well:
That's All (from me) Folks!
I'm sure there will be more photos, as a few other cameras were flashing last night.
Be well,

Now if it was raining, or, possibly sleeting then you could be in Scotland. Apart from the head wear!

It was a bit chilly but on the bright side at least the beer stayed cold!
It was a great night among friends.
The lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess forget to post this photo of her divine self and the lovely Celtic Dancer (wearing a very spiffy coat!):
Also in attendance were MacKellar and the lovely Debra and bunchdescendant and the lovely Chris.
Hopefully Richard or Kent got them in one of their picture.
Cheers and Happy Holidays to all the Nor Cal Rabble!

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in that photo of Alan and the F-H.C.A.G. showing "both" of his hands. Remember Bill Mauldin's drawing of Willie and Joe deep in each other's arms with five hands showing? W2F is following an honored precedent.
