    With a kilt I can't imagine it would look right. At the Highland Games this summer there was a LOTTA dancing going on but I never saw any kilts with this style of hat together.

    Exactly. This particular cap is a piece of uniform kit which is worn by sailors and in this particular case by Highland dancers portraying sailors for one dance.
