Snow hike then service
Nollaig Credheil--a day late
I'm one of those in the forum who wears the kilt a couple times a week, when occasions seem "special." Christmas Eve provided two such opportunities.
Here in Flagstaff we are at 7,000 foot altitude, in the midst of the world's second-largest Ponderosa Pine forest. The storm just before Christmas provided two feet of lovely snow, so my wife Marsha and I went snowshoe hiking. Marsha is holding the camera--we didn't want to try a timer shot in the thick snow!

The kilt is a SWK wool shadow tartan, which kept me as warm and happy as our dog, Duke, who has his own thick wool coat.

That evening, Marsha and I hosted the Christmas-Eve worship at our church, which is called The Journey. Our friends Greg and Sheila (pictured below) sang a hymn in Navajo, and our folk band played carols on hammered dulcimer. Marsha is wearing her Campbell plaid skirt, and I switched into my Kathy Lare Mackintosh tartan, with more formal touches.

It was a lovely Christmas Eve.

Thanks for the pictures up on the mountain! Everything/everyone looks great!
For those who aren't familiar with Arizona geography, this in only a little over 2 hours drive north from Phoenix (in good weather). It's where we go to get our snow fix.

What a great Christmas Eve. Many people forget that Arizona gets snow and your pictures illustrate my point perfectly.

Great pics.
We had a white Christmas up here in the canyonlands, but not that deep. Didn't go snowshoeing - or even picture taking. You're a braver man than I am.
