    Nice looking sporran, Ray! Looking forward to seeing you in it. That leather strap buckle is snug but will work loose the way you show it. The 45-degree slot allows you to loop the strap over itself like a half hitch and lock everything in place. Here's a picture:

    Yep, the two best things about these sporran belts, to my mind, are that they are infinitely adjustable (as opposed to those with a buckle, at which point you must hope that your prefered length falls at one of the holes, and not in between two) and that they can be easily adjusted while wearing the belt (to account for the leather stretching during the day and whatnot). I have to say that (now that I'm kilted again) I use this belt with my everyday black sporran, as well as with Pepe le Sporran.
