    WPG Cameron Review

I got my WPG Cameron kilt almost two weeks ago. After wearing it nearly everyday I thought I'd give a review.

    1. Jerry at WPG gives great service-less than a week from CA to VA.
    2. The tartan's colors are very nice and pleasing.
    3. The straps are of much better quality than my Gordon.
    4. The clothe is very soft-not stiff at all.
    5. The pleats are deep and its very warm, nice swish and sway-they hold very well.
    6. Am I happy with my purchase? Heck yes. Once you have worn a really heavy weight kilt nothing seems to stack up against it.

Anyway and couple of pictures shot today. It was very cold and windy and my photographer refused to wear shoes
My Cameron paired with a black Military sweater, Hose WPG, ugly face is mine and priceless.

    Back-

If you want an off the rack heavy WPG is the way to go-IMHO.

    GREAT look David !!!!

You INSPIRED me to switch attire. A couple of "kilted" friends are dropping by for a "casual" int: of some very special porter I laid in. ( it is a porter flavored with "Kona Coffee") & I was going to wear my Auld Lang Syne, but now I am wearing WPG "Cameron" complete with my Brit commando Black sweater & WPG hose.

Looking good, David. I am fighting an increasing itch for the WPG Gordon.

Why grab for a less than stellar Asian replica of a Gordon Highlanders kilt when the market has large numbers of un-issued or 1st grade army kilts available. These tartans and patterns are, in an Army context, now obsolete. Army kilts have quite a different quality of material (expensive heavy wool spun tartan with a special sheen and feel that only Robert Noble could deliver), quite a different standard of workmanship (hand made by some of the finest kiltmakers in Scotland including Thomas Gordon & Sons of Glasgow) and more accurate pattern (literally the "real thing"). Unless one is of a size not available in military stocks (they did not go much beyond 38" waist or 28" in length) and one does not want to have one made up (the tartans are getting increasingly difficult to source as they were amalgamated nearly 15 years ago) I see no reason for anyone to purchase one as long as these surplus kilts are flowing into the market.

Nanook interesting point. Do you have any websites where the original issue could be obtained? I have only know of happy customers of the WPG's wares from the east. I am one too! But to have an original army issue would be a fine posession.
