I haven't worn my Amerikilt, Sport Kilt or USA Kilt in a little over six weeks. It's just too cold for them.

You post is pretty much true for me. Not that I loose interest in my contemporary and non-traditinal kilts, I simply switch to wool at 55 F or below. I'm 62 and my skin is getting thinner. I have the opposite problem when the weather gets warm - heat intolerance. So, 70-75 F is about the max for me when wearing wool. Told my wife that it's the reason I need so many kilts .

I've been wearing UKs the past couple of days here in sunny California. It's been chilly (I know, chilly is relative) but I've found that wearing a pair of these Patagonia classic boxers to be very cozy with a contemporary kilt in colder weather. Pricey, but highly recommended.

Here in the south I have been in a very light polyester camo I made to long pants with knee socks. I haven't been forced into underwear yet. My heaviest is a medium weight acrylic but it's been too warm or too cold for it most of the time. When the wind blows and it's cold none of my kilts keep me warm but then pants don't either. It was 30 degrees F a couple of weeks ago and we had some snow here about 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. This morning it was 70 degrees at 7:00 AM.
We are expecting a high in the 80's today.

I wear my UKs year-round up here (Ottawa), and don't have a problem with the COLD as much as I do with the bloody WIND; I can stand pretty well any temperature, but a little bit of wind whipping around my legs can make all the difference.

That and wet snow freezing onto my bald head are what do me in. On a nice, calm, cold day, I'm good to go, but a bit of wind.... On my solid black kilt, it doesn't take much to make it fly, my red SWK is a bit better, but I've had days where my leather trench coat feels like a streamer.
