Mine have no decreases. The cables work almost like ribbing to give just a little bit of stretch, but resist stretching enough to keep the sock fairly tight. Plus, the higher up on the calf the sock goes, the diamonds "turn" sideways, in that they stretch that direction, so it looks like they've been knitted differently. That's not a very good description, but you get the idea. I'll post pictures to show what I mean.
I like the idea of a "knit-along". We could motivate each other to get those UFOs off the needles!
By the way, I can PM you the pattern, if you'd like.

Lol. Thanks for responding, I thought calanacrafts was asking me the question --- no decreases for me either - just simple socks. I love the diamond lattice.

I thought she was asking both of us!
I'm half-way done with the diamonds on the second sock. By the way, I hate to keep calling it a sock. Lady Veronica Gainford absolutely forbids referring to kilt hose as socks, and especially "sox". She calls them stockings, but to me that implies something to hang up for Santa Claus to fill with stuff (which would stretch them horribly), or something in balck fishnet which you hope your wife doesn't catch you looking at.
I'm glad you like the diamonds. They're not hard to do. Have you worked cables before?
I'm still wondering what the singular of kilt hose is.

No, I've not worked any cables yet. I think I know how to, in my head -- just need to do it at some point...

In your head? It's much easier with your hands! Kind of like playing piano by ear. Why not use the fingers?
As you can tell, I'm rather droll.

Update 1
Hi all. Just wanted to update my knitting addiction thread.
A friend requested a scarf that's really long (so he can fold it in European style) so I made one, over xmas:
Wool-Ease wool blend, color= cranberry,
2 x 2 rib, my own scarf pattern
92 inches loooong by 4 inches wide (fringe adds extra 8")
A closer look at the ribbing texture:

Now if you just scale that scarf down a wee bit - you'll have a set of traditional hose garters!
