Hmmm, I just checked all of my suit jackets, and all of them have a smaller pocket inside of the right, outside pocket. I am guessing that pocket is for the watch, and the fob just goes in the regular part of the pocket. I guess the right hand side is favored because that is on the suits with and without waistcoats.

No idea if that is the usual case with kilt jackets.

I need a longer watch-chain! I want one of those that goes from waistcoat pocket to pocket! Mine is only long enough to go from pocket to button. BTW, I don't have a T-bar - I have a circlet that goes around the button thread.

There are a lot of double albert chains on eBay, some for quite cheap.

I've tried both the spring ring and the t-bar, and I prefer the t-bar. It's easier to put on, and easier to take the waistcoat off should you need to.

I believe that is the ticket pocket.

I always wear my watch chain from the buttons to the left pocket of the vest to make it easier to reach with my right hand since that is the hand that I always grab my watch with [I wear a pocket watch daily].

I think it called a 'coin catch' or a 'key catch'. The ticket pocket is another flapped exterior pocket just above the right jacket pocket. Though, if you didn't want to put your watch in your sporran, both would serve well.

Remember that in the era you are emulating, watches were never, to my knowledge, worn in suit jacket pockets, unless it was the breast pocket, with the chain through the button hole in the lapel. Trousers always had a watch pocket. Men rarely took off their suit jackets, no matter how uncomfortable they might be, and I remember pictures of an Uncle on a fishing/camping trip in the pre WWII era. They all wore ties, waistcoats and sometimes suit jackets.

My Father always wore pocket watches, most often with a waistcoat (vest), just part of the "corporate uniform". I have his watch, my Scots Grandfather's pocket watch, and one other I am not sure where it came from, but dates from the late 1800's.

His advice was to wear the watch on the left, if you were right handed, or vice/versa. If with trousers with a watch pocket, (they always had one back then) with the crystal toward the body for protection.

I got an Elgin Wrist watch, for graduation from Academy in '46, and still wear it at least on Sunday's. I rather think I'll get my Father's dress watch worked over and start wearing it with the Kilt on formal occasions.

Well my new watch the wife got me came the other day. I have not had a chance to wear it yet, but hope to soon. My wife knows how much I loved being in law enforcement and how much I want to be again, so I think she picked well. The pics do it no justice, it even came ticking a way and had the right time. Maybe a omen of good things to come.
