MA Graduation
I put this in Off Topic, since there's no kilt.
I attended my graduation ceremony for my MA in Medieval Studies, and thought I'd post a couple pictures. It was kind of odd, since I've already moved on to the PhD, to be doing something MA related again. But it was nice to see the crew again, everyone except the two Canadian students were able to come back.
Unfortunately, I still don't have a kilt jacket, so I wore a suit instead. There was one graduate from another department who wore a kilt, though, as did his father. The kilt is still an option, though, I'll definitly have a kilt jacket, whether bought or modified, by time I get my PhD!
Another IMS grad and me walking to the Great Hall (the both of us are doing PhDs now)

An outstanding accomplishment for sure, I was so ecstatic when I finished my masters, but I had no desire to move on with my PhD. I think in a year I will attempt to start a doctoral program, because then you not only get to wear the weird gown with sleeves that serve no purpose and a cape, you also get to wear a cool hat.

Once you've moved on it does seem a bit anticlimactic, I guess, but nevertheless it is good to mark those milestones in your journey. Congratulations, and good luck on the Ph.D.

Nick,
You may not have had a kilt on...
...but at least you had a spiffy hat!

That really brings back memories. . . . It still seems (many decades later) to be a somewhat unreal time. Other memories are fond. Congratulations! (One of my Grandson's just got his Master's in Anthropology from the Univ of Leeds this past December. )
