WooHoo made my deposit on a Thorfinn!
My darling wife allowed me to make a deposit on a custom sporran I've been talking to Turpin about. So once he logs in and confirms it I'll be on the Almighty's waiting list! To make it better, tomorrow I get to call Rocky and place my order for a semi-trad! I can't wait. I haven't decided how to come out of the closet to the rest of the family yet, but that can wait until I get everything lol!

Still deciding lol. I was set on MacPhearson Red or Hunting, but have since been swayed by the beauty of the Isle of Sky and considering a couple of others. Found out that my hometown has adopted the Buchannon tartan as its own. I'll have to grab the info from the historical center and post it. So I'm calling Rocky up tomorrow and going to discuss what he has in stock, I may end up with something completely different than what I have in mind now lol.

Congrats! Good choices! USAK and Thorfinn do nice work! Turpin makes a great sporran. I LOVE mine (#109). I own a casual USAK (very well built) and have a 5-yarder on order (shouldn't be long now).
The waiting is the hardest part...

LOL, I know, it's been killing me just waiting to order! Had to wait for the xmas stuff to get done and paid for. Seems one both sides of my family I have connections to the MacPherson Clan (Smith and Currie are septs), so still leaning hard on that, but may wait and get a wool kilt in the red. The colors do not look as bright in wool as PV.
Turpin's got a couple people to make for before me so I do not know how long until I get mine. So I may have to buy a cheapo one to make it though lol.

Congratulations!
I know you're going to be very pleased with your Thorfinn sporran... Turpin does great work and is a pleasure to deal with. I just received my first Thorfinn sporran in the mail on Friday and am beyond pleased with it. It's a very dark brown elk skin sporran (no. 119) and I've included a photo of it below on top of my recently purchased Maxwell Modern tank from Bobilishious. Congratulations on your purchases. I can't speak from experience on the kilt, but I know you'll be pleased with the sporran!

Well just ordered my kilt too! Rocky has all the PV tartans in stock, so I just went ahead with the MacPherson Red. Still going to let Rocky decide on how to do it, to sett or stripe. Went ahead and paid for the rush job so that it will be ready by the time my wife and I run up there to see her friends in February.
So I've got the kilt ordered, sporran ordered, kilt pin ordered..... I just need to find a belt and sporran belt and pick up some hose Can't wait!

Welcome to the Thorfinn Jones. I've got one on order similar to this one from his website. It will be my third. What kind of Thorfinn did you order?

One very similar to this from the no-jonesing page:
Except it is brown where the grey is and has a second pocket inside for my wallet so I don't have to dig for it lol.
