Mackenzie, after Sir Alexander Mackenzie, who was the first to the Pacific in July, 1793. Mackenzie was a very active participant in the Canadian fur trade with the Northwest Company and also "discovered" the Arctic Ocean via the river that now bears his name.
A perfect tribute to the many contributions to Canada by the Scots!

Todd

Pleater the Beaver!!!
Only with a long plaid - the sort that wraps right around like an abreviated Roman toga.
With my tendency to match patterns, trying to make a tartan jacket would drive me completly over the edge.
I thought your beaver looked more male than female, though rather sweet, and - (this is almost a astronomer's joke, except they are far too serious ever to joke. ) I thought - as it is a cute fake Castor canadensis - call it Pollux.

I, too, have a beaver. As my crest is "a beaver sejant erect, holding in its dexter paw a Lochaber Axe Proper," my sister thought this would be appropriate:

He is called Hector!

Well whatever you name it, don't let on about the plans for Canadian World Domination! That would be a HUGE breach of security. The best ploy we have right now is making the rest of the world think it's a joke.
