    Kilt Pin Lucky Find

I was searching on the 'Bay the other day for a more 'formal' kilt pin to augment my usual safety-pin style I usually use, and came across this lovely, supposedly vintage kilt pin. It's not clan-specific which I liked... I can wear it with any tartan and feel 'proper', and it looks gorgeous. It has 'Scotland' and a thistle pattern engraved in the front, and there are other markings on the back that the seller doesn't specify. It looks like it might be silver, but I can't tell from the photos. Probably pewter. I'm really excited about this one, especially for only $25 shipped. I tried seeing if this seller had any others so I could tip you guys to them, but this was the only one. This is the seller's photo.

Nice looking pin! Any of the markings look like SS and a number? Just like gold items, the maker is suppose to mark them with a proof stamp. I have a few rings marked SS .75 for sterling silver and the percent of silver if I remember right lol.

I'll let you know when it's in my hands... I just bought it today from a seller in Illinois... should arrive at week's end.

Sterling, by definition, is 92.5 percent silver. Just in case you ever need to know... (end of pedantic digression)
