    Ron - I wear a Fergusson Britt skunk From the Scottish Tartan Museum with my PC. I think it's formal enough while being able to be used for semi-formal occasions. Best of both worlds.

    I agree with Brian that a full-mask sporran might be the best look for you. However, given your aforementioned "aversion to some furs... especially with the dead head on" I'll follow Ted's lead by suggesting goat hair as another possibility:
