The matching flashes and tie idea sound interesting, it would most certainly go with the Wicked theme. Will you post photos when you have the entire outfit together?

Absolutely, I will. When the tie and/or sporran come in, I'll get pictures with white and black shirts, and with the tie/flashes, and put them up here as well.

I personally like the LOOK. Although a white shirt IS "conventional" for after "6", I feel in this case (concidering the event, the BLACK is a GREAT choice. Of course I am BIASED As those of who have seen some of my "LOOKS" I often wear Colored dress shirts. (BLACK or GREYS with Black or grey Jackets, Navys with Navy jackets , etc.)
BTW, Although I am concidered a "conservative dresser" ( and have worn 3 pc "suits" regularly for 40 years, both for Business & Evening wear) , when I feel like taking the "STUFFINESS" or MUNDANE out of my LOOK (a white shirt is "mundane" sometimes, IMHO)
How has it been "acepted" (including the change from p^7ts to KILTS) ?? IMHO EXTREMELY WELL!!

The IMPORTANT THING, IMHO, is to make your "presentation" with CLASS & YOU HAVE!!

Here's a link to the Wicked website that features the "Wicked Green":

...looks like the Kelly Green is closer to Wicked.

Good looking vest and jacket. I dig the black shirt and red tie, too.

Gentlemen, the art of dressing well is the art of having people notice you, not your clothes.

I think it looks great as is other that the sporran change. But a bold green for tie and flashes would be very classy too.

I've ordered two Kelly green ties, one to wear, and one to butcher into flashes.

Will post the results, of course!

tie(s) and sporran came in yesterday. I'll get some pictures taken here in a bit with black/white shirt with each tie, and get pictures of that with the new sporran up in a bit for "review"

As a fan of the black shirts and coloured ties, I think you look just fine. I respect and appreciate the guidelines of Highland attire, but I also enjoy adding my own twists. I am not trying to wear a $50 with a home made jacket and pass it off at a Burns night. I like the charcaol tweed argyle and traditional worsted wool kilts I own and wear, so I am not to concerned about adding a newer, hipper twist with the black dress shirt and tie.

Looks good as is Chase. Very sharp and very well pulled together.
