    WPG kilt extenders?

OK, you have probably read praises of the WPG repros of British Military Kilts. The Gordon being the best deal of them all.

BUT My question is where can one get kilt extenders for the things? The kilt straps on the WPG kilts have double holes (as opposed to the single holes that one finds on most kilts).

Short of making the buggers myself and the associated aggravation, there has to be a source for extension straps for these!

    Maybe post a pic?
If they are double holes, you can purchase the single hole straps from HighlandXpress and add the additional holes. Just a thought.

Thanks Wallace. I thought about using regular extenders, but the WPG holes are side by side, which would mean there would be three holes (regular extenders have one hole in the centre of the strap. Also, the strap wouldn't fit on the WPG buckle since it has two teeth (prong?), instead of one.

Here's a picture of an actual MoD Gordon kilt. you can see the double holes on the strap:

I had my local shoe repair place make extenders. Most of those type places will make whatever you want...just take the kilt in and show them what you want to do. All the best

Well, there are two solutions to this problem: buy kilt extenders or replace the straps.

Anyway, I am posting the strap info as someone down the pike may want a set (and I may be that someone). The space between the paired holes is 1/2" if these pics aren't true to size.

    Those are very doable.

And the strap width is about 1-1/4"?

Hole spacing between sizes about 1" or 3/4"?

    Are you needing 1, 2 or 3?

You have nother the only real problem any of us have with WPG kilts: the straps really suck. And I mean they suck big time.

Elsewhere we have discussed the adviseabliity of replacing the straps altogether, and I would recommend that for a long term fix. I'm going to do it (when I get around to it).

In the meantime, I would deartily recommed that you deal with CavScout. Whatever he sends will be top notch, and it will meet your immediate need.

I have a great source for replacement straps that will more than meet my need since they thick black leather, they measure 8 inches in length, they are 1.5 inches wide. The long length allows for "additional pounds" (girth?).

Aye, replacement is definitely the best solution. Just be sure to keep those nifty 2 prong buckles for some other project. Those puppies will be hard to find if you ever want them.
