Last night, we were working our way to a low temperature of 21 F, which is considered cold in these parts. My answer to "aren't you cold" varied from quoting Piobbear (enough wool to knit a sheep), to detailing

8 linear yards of wool about my middle
Braemar jacket and waistcoat made in Scotland to Scots specifications
    woolen hose, ditto

best of all, someone asked me that as I was putting on this coat

I don't know anything about the number of sheep involved in kilting...but I do know that our mature Romneys and RomneyXCottwolds sheep would produce fleeces from 6 to 12 pounds of raw wool each. Personally, I miss having a flock of the woolies, lambing time would start in a couple of weeks and that starts a pretty hectic time of birthing and feeding and trying to sneak lambs onto to ewes.
