Getting my first kilt made.
Well, I've finally decided to have a kilt made. I gave the task to Kathy Lare in November. The tartan I have chosen is the Isle of Skye in 16 OZ. Strome wool. I can't wait until she is done with it, and I have it on. I think the first place I'll go wearing it is Wal-Mart.

Way to jump in big and the right way! A 16oz hand sewn from Kathy Lare, and an Isle of Skye to boot! You will be posting pictures, yes?

to the rabble. Sounds like you made a very good choice for your first kilt. Remember at XMarks if there are no pictures posted it didn't actually happen I'm sure from the comments of others that you will be more than pleased with Kathy Lare's work.

I too am having Kathy Lare make up my first traditional kilt. I ordered it in early December. Today makes the end of week 6. I too can hardly wait!

First, welcome. But why are you choosing Wal-Mart for its debut?
