Congrats on the obvious,
suppose a lot of what you do will depend on what you want to do/see.
In Glasgow the Kelvingrove museum is ok, and small enough to see quite quickly, Good opportunity to go down Byres Road and Ashton Lane after, nice pubs restaurants and coffee shops so not demanding. If you can you might want to go up the Glasgow tower at the science centre if its a nice day good view of the city.
In Edinburgh The old town is obvious, Try the Castle, expensive, holyrood palace and the Scottish Museum in chamber street, free. Get a tour bus of Waverley Bridge you can have a look round and jump on and off
