Photos of Phoenix-area Burns Night Supper 16 Jan 2009
Last night the Scots of the West Valley had their annual Burns Night Supper at Palmbrook Country Club in Sun City, Arizona. Sionnach, Spartan, Thunderbolt & I, along with our wives attended & enjoyed a fine program that last a little over 3 hours.
Here's a few piccies I took.
Robert (the non-XMarker at our table), Sionnach, Thunderbolt, Spartan & Spartan's wife, Carol
Myself & my wife. This was the public premiere of her new kilted skirt, tartan sash & jabot blouse. Her tartan is County Kerry in honor of her Irish family's roots.
Here they're Piping in the Haggis. As you may tell, we were in a fairly large banquet hall & our table was a ways back & to the side. I estimate there were at least 200 in attendance. To take these pics I had to hold my camera at arm's length over my head to try to get over the crowd, so they didn't always come out as clear as I might like.

Hey, glad to see you got some pics of the group dancing, Spartan!
The gal who gave the Address to the Haggis had asked the music entertainer to play some group songs. She thanked me afterwards for leading the Macarena & Electric Slide. I said as a mobile DJ, I've had plenty of experience doing that. Amazingly (to me anyway), she said she'd never done the Macarena! (And not because she had avoided it like some folks...)
It was nice being able to dance with my wife during the following 2 slow dance numbers & not have to worry about keeping the music going.

Great photos, guys. I could only add duplicates. Terry kept commenting on how happy she was to dance- too bad that was so short, but a most enjoyable evening al around.
