If you ask him nicely maybe he can make you all tartan flashes with the extra material. lol.
Oh, and we can supply double width if required. There's just never been demand for it before.
LOL - yes, lots of tartan flashes Oh and thanks again for the extra width.

With copyright and all, I'm glad that Chris is providing fabric yardage now, in heavyweight wool.

If there's enough remaining material, I meant to make the second kilt for myself (mm, mmm. Although I had asked that same friend if he'd be able to find another person who might be interested in a second box kilt. **Perhaps you, Aldisimo (and others) can talk about combining forces to make something possible** Being from AZ and TX, a box kilt would be more appropriate for your kind of weather. Send me a PM, let's talk. It would be an honor if you (and others) ask me to create a kilt for you with the Bear Tartan.

It would be awesome if I had the means to get another yardage of it so I can create a double-box pleat of the Bear Tartan. That would be oh so nice.

I will keep that in mind, and watch your progress on this current project.

Was waiting for someone to explain the significance of the tartan...when the link came up went there and now I get it....I think...okay, fine...nothing to do with Chicago and football...

    Continued congratulations!!!

When I first set eyes on this tartan I immediately thought of a lovely hike. This tartan just makes me think of the mountains.

Can't hardly wait to see how it makes up.

    Again congrats.

One thing I noticed about the a-symmetry... look at the picture CLOSELY... the BOTTOM black line in the pic (horizontal) is on the OTHER side of the tartan. This MAY allow it to be cut and spliced, HOWEVER, the vertical kilt stripes will move from one side of the block to the other side at the splice. I'm ASSUMING that the grey / white pivot line just above the bottom of the picture is the MIDDLE of the bolt when I talk about the a-symmetry being splice-able... kind of.

    Is this making sense?

But doesn't it still make it impossible to simultaneously line up the selvedge, the twill line, and the weft-wise order of the stripes?? Or am I not thinking this through correctly? You could match selvedge and the twill line and the warp-wise order of the stripes, but wouldn't the weft-wise order still be a mirror image across the center back? You could make the weft-wise order work, but you'd have to flip the tartan, and the twill lines would be mirror images. Or am I screwed up somewhere?
