....yeah, I've tried the law and park ranger sources but so far nothing. I did come across a UK ebay site that has the later style brown wool battle dress jacket (with the buttons exposed). I sent a note asking WPG about the cost of the RAF blue jacket alone (w/o the pants) but they never replied so I guess they are too busy.

But, in answer to the original questions, the first picture I ever saw of a kilt and battledress jacket was, I believe, a picture of "Monty" in either N. Africa or at a conference with Eisenhower and the other top generals. He was in kilt and jacket.

I bought my RAF battlejacket from WPG by itself. Try calling Jerry, he's one busy guy. Excellent quality in my opinion.

I personally think that "Ike" style Jackets can look good with the kilt. ( Day casual ( my definition = "walk about"))

Here is a picture of one of mine ($15.00 special that Riverkilt told us about)

Is it the camera/monitor or is the jacket less blue than the pics on the Sportsman's choice website?

    Looks sharp though.

Funny thing< I was was just suggesting WPG kilts in another thread and mentioned that my next kilt would be a 22oz Black Watch. Then went browsing at the Ike jackets as Ithought that it would compliment the kilt so... Then when I came back to this site I saw this thread. There is also the P40 battledress as a option.

    Puffer,

That is a nice look with the Blackwatch kilt. What brew pub is that you are at?

RON it is def. less blue. The color is more of a grey/green with a "slate grey/blue tone. (if that makes any sense.
the colors differ depending on the light.
here is as close as I can make it. (note the color of the "waist" = grey.)

BTW, forgive the LACK of pressing, I just grabed it out of the box, tried it on, it fit, And off I went

It wasn't General Bernard Montgomery, then, as "Monty" never served in a Scottish regiment, only the Warwickshires, later to command the British Eighth Army in North Africa.

Perhaps it was General Douglas "Tam" Wimberley of the 51st Highland Division in North Africa.

Well crap; I didn't get one due to how blue they looked... which I wasn't partial to at all.

Yours looks great... I wonder if any are still available...
