There was a drumming contest ($1000 for the winner). Plenty of pipers marching in, about and out. Picture is a little dark but you can get the gist of the evening.

The party continued into the wee hours of the morning. Three guys, a few pints, we got a little silly. The wives wanted a picture of our good sides:

I saw you knuckleheads -- at least, I know I saw Wally (I remembered a tall lad in with a fly plaid) and Jim (the cap). I wish I'd known somehow it was youz guys.
I wasn't at Steam too long -- my son wasn't feeling well after the concert so I ran him back to the hotel and returned to the Marriott. By then, the party was in full swing and I wasn't in a drinking mood (a few too many Friday night), so I felt a little out of synch. I stuck around long enough to win some schwag (a pipe band t-shirt from a band in Troy, NY) and headed back to the ranch.
Like I said in the other thread, the amount of talent that crossed that stage was just sick. Other than the Worlds or maybe Oban or Inverness, there's probably more talent at Winter Storm than any other concert in the world. I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Maybe next time you will recognize the X-Mark tartan?
