Thanks for all your offers of help including PMs which I have received from some of you.
Situation has been helped a bit today by being able to buy big bag of olives for 35 cents, also been to see bus company about lost ticket and they confirm they will take me to Gibraltar tomorrow so I will be able to use sterling coin there.

What a wonderful clan is xmarks.
I had several offers to advance me money and have collected a loan of 148 euros (200 dollars) within the`past half hour which BroosterB1 kindly sent to me via Western Union, which will make the next few days much more comfortable. Several others of you also made similar offers for which many thanks. Thanks also for all the helpful suggestions.

Ouch Alex. Somehow I missed this until now. Glad things have worked out just a bit anyway. Take care and looking forward to seeing you in Dumfries this weekend.

Alex, so sorry to hear of your experience. I can understand how you're feeling. About twenty years ago, my wallet got stolen while on vacation in Amsterdam, also known as pickpocket heaven. Unfortunately, no internet back then to lean on.

I've only just read your note, Alex.
I am just down the road (well, down the railway line) at Torremolinos,
phone 952 38 38 83
Give me a ring. Even if it is too late to help much, we could always have a drink and a chat.
And/or come Country dancing Friday in Arroyo de la Miel-Benalmadena, 5pm. I can meet you at the station and take you to the hall.
As it happens, when I arrived in Fuengirola about 4 years ago, I discovered I had lost my wallet in London, so I know how it feels.
