Smile Congrats on the new website link advert

Let me be the first to congratulate you, Nick, on the newly designed advertiser's link to your scotweb-kiltstore website from here at XMTS (top right corner of your screen, for those of us folks who don't look around much). And I love the 10% (give or take) discount you provide to us x-markers when we connect through from that link from here at XMTS. That is a nice perk. Nice work, and thanks again for supporting this site.

By the way, I plan on making use of that discount when I order my Douglas Ancient (16oz marton mills tartan) 8yd Balmoral kilt , probably in the next day or two. Just wondering if you have a brick and mortar store in Scotland where I might be able to stop by when I am there for the first two weeks of June? If I could order it now and pick it up there it could save us both a bit of trouble with shipping, VAT, customs, etc, and also give us both the chance to see that it fits before I leave the country. I understand if that is too little advance notice to accomplish, though, and have enough kilts already to suffice for the trip. Thanks again.

Many thanks for the kind words. And sorry that I never noticed this question! (If anyone wants to ask me a question, PMing or email is usually more reliable, as I go through phases of checking here more regularly or less so...) We don't have a high street outlet, which helps us to keep prices down. We can certainly arrange pick-ups from our premises, by appointment. But it's obviously cutting it rather fine now due to my tardiness in responding. (We can produce kilts in days if necessary, but have to pay our kiltmakers hefty surcharges for the special service on top of their normal workload.) Sincere apologies!

No apologies necessary. I probably shouldn't have snuck it in under the guise of my congratulations.

My Ancient Douglas kilt aspirations have been put on hold, at least temporarily, partly becasue of ther needs, partly because of the timing of the trip, but mostly becasue while doing some digging into my family history I found out that my distant ancestor, who was a founding father landowner of Virginia, threw some shady dealing had our family land taken from our ancestors by a man named Douglas (possibly our distant Scottish or northern English brethren), thus forcing my american clan to displace further west into the mountains of what is now West Virginia, where a lot of my descendents still live or are buried. Anyway, finding that out a couple weeks ago kind of soured me a bit on the Douglas association. Although I do love that tartan I think for now I will do without. Bright side is, through all the digging I did discover another branch of the family which is likely of Scottish descent---the Allens. And the Allen 1996 tartan is I think an even more stunning one. So now that is on my jonesing list.

    Thanks again, Nick.

When does the 10% get realised...

I have clicked on the advert on this site and when I view the kilt I would like to purchase the cost is no different to the one that I see if I had logged into the site directly.....

When does the 10% discount get taken into consideration?

    Hi MartinW,

It SHOULD appear instantly with a lower price for you. So if it doesn't, I'd like to look into why. Can you advise exactly which page you were looking at, so I can check asap.

    Cheers!

    Nick

PS - you can always call our toll-free number if in doubt... :-)

OK, first of all I was looking at the Kilt Outfits....so not sure whether the 10% actually applies to them or not!

The link is shown below but I had to navigate there in different ways depending on whether I went straight to menswear or through the link at the top of this page. On both counts the price was the same at £776.88
