As you will want to look your absolute best on your wedding day, a 16 oz 8 yard kilt is your best bet.
As has been mentioned you have plenty time until August, so do your homework and find yourself a good kiltmaker, who will personally answer all your questions.
A kilt properly made, in the correct weight wool will last you a lifetime, so good luck in buying your first kilt, and congratulations on your forthcoming wedding.
