Be sure you're scanning for all malware and not just virii. Some AV programs don't detect things like the various false AV programs. If you're not doing it already, I'd suggest getting SpyBot Search & Destroy, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or Spyware Doctor and running a scan with one of those.

If you're already doing that, then you should be fine.

    Thanks Scott,

I'm using CA who my friends say writes the programs for most other companies in the business. And my server company has McAffee....

And since this pop up insanity happened in the middle of something else I'd been doing for a while rather than when I opened up an email or something I'm guessing it was set to respond to a photobucket action.

I'm hoping Photobucket eventually sends out an explaination and if there was any damage done to customers that they'll let us know how to fix it.

    Am I optimistic or what?

I just got through to my Photobucket account - no diversions - so it might be OK again.

Those are good antivirus programs, but antivirus != anti all malware. We use McAfee on the university computers *and* SpyBot (although we may move to Spyware Doctor soon) in order to have a comprehensive defense. (We use MBAM for scanning/removal ATm as well). One or the other alone is not enough. It is not uncommon for one of my users to have a machine laden with spyware/trojans/malware that McAfee AV won't detect, although it does a fine job of keeping out actual virii. Just like in the military, defense in depth is required to ensure security.
