    From dictionary.com:

    steam iron
    –noun
an electric iron with a water chamber, which emits steam onto the fabric or garment being ironed.

    –verb (used with object)
    21. to smooth or press with a heated iron, as clothes or linens.

Anyway, all joking aside, it could be the most comfortable darn kilt in the world but I wouldn't buy it because I'd be ironing the silly thing each time I wanted to wash it or wear it. For that, I LOVE my UK Original. Launder, hang to dry, no ironing necessary.

Workmanship and comfort aren't the only considerations. I, for instance have several shirts that I rarely ever wear because of the whole ironing thing.

As a kilt it doesn't look good, as a khaki paper sack, it looks great.
    ouch lol

Pockets, *** is that about...just seems mental, as i have never worn anything but a tradtional kilt (exception - my Xkilt is cut to look tradtional), pockets seem far to convient and thoughtout...lol

Well, the kilts do look bad from the pics. However, I'll agree with a previous poster that their footwear looks remarkable. The "ghillie boots" are pretty damn neat and (IMHO) would look great with diced hose!

It is a quality construction and the side slash pockets work well without bulging open and disturbing the lines. So far I am pretty pleased. I haven't washed it yet, I'll let you know.
So lurker52, I hope you're still hanging around here and will let us know how the KK is wearing almost a year later.

A Kommando was my first "beat-about" non-tartan kilt. I used it mountain hiking in the smokies/Appalacian trail, fly fishing, banging around the cabin in the summer and ok--it lacks a certain 'flash', but man, does it take a beating.

I think it actually gets better after being washed, dumped in streams while fishing/hiking, dried out in the sun. I like the way the straps have held up to.
