Jonesing can occur at multiple levels, most of whixh I hae either experienced in the past or am currently experiencing. Of course, the standard jones---something ordered, now just the waitfor delivery. The extended jones---ordered but then backordered, so the first wait to hear when the back order is filled, then the usual jones for delivery. This is similar to the custom kilt jones----ordered, fabric being acquired, notifiactiation of fabric acquired, then jonesing for word of the kiltmakers progress, finally word of completiong and shippping and the usual ahipping wait jones. A grade up from that is the custom fabric, custom kilt jones---fabric ordered but out of stock and needs to be custom woven or wait until the next routine run of that tartan is made, then the jones for shipping to your kiltmaker, the kiltmaker manufacturing jones, etc..., you get the picture. Add to that the "que" jones, where your fabric is at the kilt maker but waiting patiently in line for its turn under the needle of the master, then the manufacturing jones, etc... on and on. Often the jones is heightened by brief small fixes offered by the kiltmaker---emails as to your status in the que, when you get to the top of the list, photos of the kilt in progress, and then again at completion with the basting stitches in it, etc... Even worse the jones of having the fabric in your hands, beautiful tartan with that feel and smell, waiting to be sent to your kiltmaker to be put into the que for manufacture, etc.... Worse yet, the "I haven't got the money" jones on top of the I have the fabric jones, where you have to wait for the financing before you can even send out that lovely fabric to your master kiltmaker.

Another variation---the "re-jones", where you have gone through any or all the above agonies, only to find upon receipt of the golden fleece that something is wrong---doesn't fit, wrong tartan, etc..., and you have to send it back and start the process all over again, thereby not only suffering the original jones's, but the disappointment jones, and then the second round of jonesing all over again.

I am sure that others have their own variations on the theme I have laid out, but brother it can be agony. I right now have several simultaneous projects in various stages of jonesing (getting hard to keep track). Just got my re-jones remade Burnetts & Struth Weathered MacDonald 6 yar 16 oz two days ago (a month after original delivery of the wrong tartan), then got my ebay ordered original Braveheart 16oz tank yesterday (ordered two months ago) and barely have had time to try them on, let alone get the basting stitches taken out. Still hard jonesing for a 13oz tank in Muted MacDonald of Glencoe from Scottishkilts.net ordered 6 or seven weeks ago, hoping it will arrive in time for the anniversary of the Massacre of Glencoe on Feb 13---not a peep from the manufacturer yet and we are only two weeks away. Fabric at Barb T's for a 16oz maple Leaf (multiple levels of jonesing going on here) waiting in her cue and simultaneously financially jonesing that one. Waiting for some tartan from Scotland in Forrester Hunting to arrive, that I am hoping to be able to have our own Chattancat work his wonders on. Lastly I am currently sitting on 8 meters of custom woven single width Allen 1996 tartan in 16oz by Dalgleish, that will eventually make it way to Barb T for her to make a very special Kingussie style tank with, something we are both jonesing for in anticipation.

Jones, jones, jones, jones. and more jones. I think I need to start taking anti anxiety medication just ot be able to focus on my daily duties as I am so distracted by my jonesing. What do you think Riverkilt, is this a treatable malady, in your honest therapists opinion?
