This is always on my calendar - last full weekend in February!
I'm glad they're having it again at Margaret Hance Park & not returning to MCC. And since you mentioned parking, don't forget that our new light rail line goes right by the park.
Unfortunately, I can't make it Saturday because I'm DJing a wedding out in Mesa, but I'll be there Sunday!
See ya there!
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

Personally, I'm going to take advantage of the light rail. I'll park in the free lot at the NW end of the line and take the light rail the rest of the way.

We're planning on using the light rail also. I still haven't ridden on it, but there is a station 3 blocks from my brothers house, and it stops right by the park. I'm starting to get really anxious.

When I was a kid in California, 20 years ago or more, we used to try to get over to the Mesa games (I know it is in Phoenix, but back then...) whenever we could. John Partenan, who was part of the founding of the Mesa Calledonian Society, was one of my mother's pipe teachers and she played for two of his bands at different times. I wasn't a piper then, just a band brat, but I have always loved going to any highland games, large or small.
I will actually be in Arizona during the time of the games. But I will be in Tucson. We planned the timing of this trip especially so I could compete (pipes, grade 4) at the games, but car repairs just last week wiped out all of the budget we had for getting to and staying in Phoenix for a couple of days. All. I had to borrow money from my mom because the repairs were more than expected.
Wanna know the worst part? Now, a different mechanic is telling me that about $800 of what the dealer did was almost certainly not necessary. That's enough to pay back my mom and still make the games, but when the dealer is done with the work you'll never get a refund. Every time I think of that repair bill I think of missing out on my chance to be at the games in a few weeks. Lost opportunities.
Hope the rest of you have a great time, though.
