Sorry one more thing. You may want to also think about changine out the buttons to maybe brown ones, even the "Bachalor" buttons that WPG sells to go on the British denim Battledress jacket. The two colors would "break up" the mililtary look, and not make it so uniformed.

The stick? The stick kind sir goes very well with the outfit. A lot of officers (especially in the Irish Rgts) would have had a nice walking or "Pace" stick, also known as a swagger stick, and while they were usually plain cane with a silver embossed regimental top to them, the one you have works very nicely.

I was in no way shape or form arguing that carrying a walking stick was wrong. There aren't enough of us around anymore, we need more gentlemen carrying walking sticks!* But the twisted and obvious hand carved quality to it didn't strike me as very military. A plain black one with a metal top though would be nice.

Normal = Tweed Jacket, but I wanted to try something different to see how it would "work" ( you do not Know until you try. Kind of like ith: 0r "flat caps etc.

Puffer, I rather admire your unstudied sense of style and eye for color, and what I like best about it is that you are able to find an assortment of wardrobe parts and put them together in a way that has visual appeal without looking like you just stepped out of a closet full of Garanimals.

I second this. Any outfit can be picked apart for every minute detail. No one in real life is going to study you that long. When you walk into the room, you WILL make a statement.

Now, where do I get a jacket like that?

O.K. , I guess. I am sure Jamie has better taste in this area than I. But my tuppence is the look would be great without the plaid. The kilt, hose, jacket, walking stick, and cover go very well together, and resemble what is the senior gent on a walk through the park should look like. I.M.H.O. the plaid and the jacket do not belong together.

As I scrolled down through the photos, I could not help but get the impression that you would have been better off leaving the plaid at home, like Jamie, I feel the plaid and your stick just do not go with the theme and look of the rest of the outfit. I would tend to use them for a different look than what you have here.
