I think there is a tracking chip that can be sewn into the fell of your kilt so you can track it if its ever stolen.
    I think it's called LoJock.

You could use Tiki Tags but I don't know if they are washable.

The RFID chips that are designed for Industrial Laundries cost way to much to use casually and you would need to get a reader and a program to code them correctly.

sorry I worked for such a company and spent far too much time investigating RFID's and the applications.

My vet will microchip a pet for $50, can't imagine that environment is any less hospitable than inside a tank pleat. . . doesn't provide active tracking, but it would ID your tank if ever recovered (i.e., if you saw one suspiciously like it listed on eBay...).

OTOH, you could probably add a rider to homeowner's policy for less than that. Of course, that doesn't consider the rate increase/refusal to renew if you ever did actually file a claim.

Wonder what Hamish's homeowner's (excuse me, manor owner's) insurance looks like?

Well, between you and me, the Kilt Kollection is uninsured! It is rather like having a private art collection - the value can be so high that no insurer will cover it. I have to rely to the extremely high level of security I have installed at Bicknell Grange and the surrounding parkland. To give you a brief idea of what just part of this is, here is a quote from the Home page of my forthcoming new Website:

"Anyone thinking of breaking into Bicknell Grange, my ancestral home in Sussex should note that I have recently updated the security precations protecting the Kilt Kollection, which is now housed in climate - controlled, underground high security vaults.
The new vaults are a great success. The blast-proof doors took about 4 days to crane into position, and only I and my executors know the secret combination.

Oh, and Horace the 22-foot-long python hasn’t been fed for over a year, but he has free run of the vaults.

Getting the filtration system for the new shark tank working correctly wasn’t easy (regulating the salinity was a problem) but it’s now working just fine, and ‘Killer’ my 36-foot great white shark is very happy in his new home. A little hungry, perhaps, but happy."

    Take care,
    Ham..

That's reassuring, Ham. How are the crocodiles adapting to life in the moat?
