    It is true that the MILITARY wear their flashes to the front. But that is a uniform. I wear mine more to the side and perhaps a little behind.

    I wore mine at 9 and 3 initially, now 10 and 2. /shrug.

    just guidelines, as others have said.

    I think the biggies are to make sure they're primarily on the outside (ie: not centered on the front, back, or inside), and also to make sure the two parts of the flashes are together on the outside, rather than one strip inside and one strip outside.
