You're really getting into those plaids lately, Puffer. Is it more for the style than functionality (warmth) they provide?

You look great ! I love the Laird's Plaid. I kinda wish I saw more people utilize it. It's very functional. Keep it up, Puffer ! I wore my Black Watch kilt today also with my charcoal tweed Argyle and waistcoat out hiking. No pics though, I wish I did bring my camera. I'm afraid no Laird's Plaid either. Next time though. It was really quite warm today hovering at 44*F. It's been in the single digits for several days now. So it was rather nice. Again, you look great ! Sorry for rambling.

Turpin, my friend (& supplier of GREAT sporrans,)
1. I carry/wear one quite often & have done so for a quite awhile. The reason I have not posted a lot of pics, is because I do NOT have them.
2. Although IMHO there is a "style factor", I wear/carry them for "FUNCTIONALITY"
a. Warmth, yes (although today was sunny, it was in the mid 40s & I walked. Draped around my shoulders = "COMFORT"
b. They are also very practical, when on a "walk about" (sitting on a "cold bench or rock")
c. Events, like Ball Games
d, Sitting in Drafty or air conditioned buildings ( (think "cold knees)
To me a LAIRD'S Plaid is a "car robe or Stadium blanket" used KILTED UP.

Not to mention, historically, the great kilt had the plaid. The only difference was that it was attached. It was used for all the above listed, as well as a sleeping bag. Plaid on, my friend. You're looking good.

I suppose you looked ok but the laird's plaid really looked like it was to long to me. But maybe that's just ignorance on my part.

Duchess, NOT IGNORANCE IMHO. but perhaps unfamiliarity.
The "LAIRD"S PLAID" is Large (it is as I said "a Car Robe stadium blanket" type item. IE - BLANKET. (not a "fashion" item, (like a "fly Plaid" but FUNCTIONAL.) Although there is no "standard" size 4' x 8' is "common"
Here is a pic. Note the Gent on the far left
Normally if I simply had it "draped"off the shoulder, it would have been doubled (length wise) & appear similar to the other Gents
Here is a pic of me wearing one (period attire0 The pic on the Right is how I was actually wearing it as I "strolled" down the street.
And yes the Plaids are the same size.
I hope this helps.
BTW If you can find more Info. PLEASE SHARE.
