Diced Hose with the XMTS tartan?
My XMTS tartan military box pleat kilt is the one I wear for very special occasions and I have been considering seeing about a pair that would look good for next years Burns Night Supper (I also will hopefully have a second XMTS tartan kilt in PV by then)
I was wondering if any of members wore diced hose with their XMTS tartan or had diced hose that matched the XMTS tartan.
Pictures would be appreciated.
Cheers

Jamie, why not send a swatch to NorCal Piper and see if he can get you a pair of tartan or diced hose knitted to match. I daresay you'd be the first on this forum to have them.
hmmmm. might have to take my own advice.

I would second Turpin's suggestion. XMarks tartan hose would be great.

I like diced hose. But, I think tartan hose to match the XMTS tartan would be even sharper. I too might have to consider this...

I think Argyll hose would be a very good look with the X-Marks tartan Diced I'm not so sure unless they are custom done to reflect some of the colours of the tartan.

I don't have any pictures handy, but I have a pair of London Scottish hose tops that I would wear with my X Marks tartan. At least I think they're London Scottish ... anyway, the colors are solid blue and tan checks, interspaced by blocks with the two mixed into a grayish tone.

Yep...London Scottish & Toronto Scottish. I based my new diced hose on that pattern.

I have some yarn set aside for diced hose to match the Edzell tartan Rocky had made up. With a little luck, it will go with the Xmarks, too. This is with 2 shades of blue, and the marled combination just happened to be available---all in worsted weight yarn. So it would be blue and blue rather than blue and white.
If it doesn't work out, we'll just have to get cracking on some Xmarks tartan hose! but first I have some kilts to sew...

Something triggered my besotted memory banks and I thought that Ham had some...then I looked and saw he had diced hose tops...not full diced hose.
Checked the gallery and not there. Know he posted pics of them a while back because we all raved about them.

In anticipation of my own XMTS tartan pv kilt, I made a pair of Original Hose Toppers that I think match quite well. The top and bottom bands are a colour called "denim" that closely matches the darker blue of the tartan.

As always, your opinions are welcomed.
