Freddie....yes, some of the lads do get them short at times! The research that is done from portraits of the 1600s and 1700s do show the kilts worn shorter than modern times, so we do emulate that. Also, remember that we handpleat these on the ground each morning when we are at events, so there are some lads who are quite proud of their legs, I guess!! We once had a Captain of our unit who we joked wore the mini-kilt!! We try to keep the length just above or a few "fingers" above the knee. I've been doing this so long that if my kilt falls to the knee or below, it doesn't feel right. Malcolm
