OK, I have a question about the final 5 cylons-specifically Tigh.
Before the big reveal they had shown how he had spent years with Adama in the fleet, from when they were both young men. So was he created as a cylon child and grew up just like a human, or did the cylons create him to replace an actual human Tigh?

The fact that cylons regenerate in their current form makes it pretty unlikely that they grow up as cylon children. Plus, he is supposed to have been from earth, with the other 5. Not sure how that actually worked...was Tigh replaced early on? Was another model used?

Ok -- so I had questions:

What caused the nuclear explosion 2000 years ago?

Did they have a cylon civil war like at the present time?

What's so special about the final five?

Shouldn't have the cylons on earth regenerated when the nuclear explosion occurred? Just like the final 5 did?

They provide Diversity and Randomness to the equation. This is taking an Asimovian turn. Originally Cylons were inspired by Saberhagen's Berserker's, an very violent form of the Borg, more like Data's (Lore's) super crystal, I think now they are "evolving" into something much, much more variable; and valuable. "We need each other.......in more ways than one."

They actually did a little in the last episode. While Sam was giving his info before surgery, it was mentioned that the "Earth Cylons" had been able to have children. If they can have children, they can therefore grow up/old. They didn't need resurrection. They did help their old cylon relatives to create regeneration at the same time the created the "skin jobs".

I am wondering if there is still Adam, the mystery cylon out there.

My head is still spinning from Friday. Of course, it didn't help I got to the show half way through and then watched the first half at the midnight showing!!!! Argh!

The whole "earth cylons" thing is kind of confusing. I thought the original point was: humans create cylons, cylons rebel and leave for 50 years or so, cylons evolve and come back to wipe out humans. And they have a plan.

Now we find out they were around a few thousand years ago. On earth.
I'm very confuseled.
